How Our Coverage Windows Work

Live entertainment rarely runs to the minute, so our schedule is built around coverage windows rather than fixed start times. A window opens before doors or curtain and stays open until the last encore, post-show interviews or crowd wrap-up are done. If a headliner goes on late or a festival stage runs behind, the window simply stretches to match. Treat any listed time as the point when we start setting the scene, not necessarily the moment the main act walks out.

On-air blocks versus special coverage

Regular on-air blocks are our recurring programming: recaps, venue spotlights and conversations about what is happening across the Los Angeles live scene that week. Special coverage is added around individual events, such as a major concert, a theater opening or a multi-day festival, and can appear at short notice when something worth covering comes up. You can browse the programs behind these blocks on our Shows page, and when a window is active, the stream itself lives on the Live page.

Why times can change

Event organizers adjust running orders, weather can affect outdoor stages, and access arrangements at venues sometimes shift on the day. When that happens we update the schedule as soon as we can, but it is always worth checking back shortly before a window opens. Keep in mind that Los Angeles times are Pacific Time, so viewers in other regions should convert accordingly.

Planning to attend in person?

Our schedule shows when we are covering an event, not ticket or door information. If you plan to be there yourself, confirm dates, entry times and policies with the venue or promoter directly, and allow plenty of time for LA traffic and parking. Our LA venues section offers background on the spaces we visit most often. Missed a window? Past coverage is collected in the archive so you can catch up whenever suits you.
